If there is a music royalty, that would be Elvis Presley. Elvis was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century, and the most recognized entertainers in the world. He popularized a new style of music which we now know as rock ‘n’ roll, and was nicknamed the "King of Rock and Roll."
Elvis holds the record for being the best-selling solo or individual artist in the history of popular music, havingsold more than one billion albums worldwide.In addition to singing more than 600 songs and starring in 31 movies, he was best known for his incredibly entertaining concerts. His mansion and estate in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, is called Graceland, andis the second most-visited private home in America today, after the White House. Elvis died of a heart attack in 1977, at the age of 42. He would have turned 76 this Jan. 8.
