I look forward to the day when
Swirling, waltzing glassy crystals
Swoop down from above
I could hear their laughter
Tinkling
Piling
Into small mounds on the ground
Only to be swept up again by the bellowing wind
With a deep laugh
Flakes giggle
And holding hands they dance
Waltz
Across the bright blue background
The green spikes of grass hiss with delight
As their delicate green heads are
Crusted
Coated
In the cackling, feathery bits of snow
The trees guffaw
Waving their bare arms into the snow
Trying to catch the flakes
But the snickering snow ducks and weaves
In and out
Throughout the naked branches
It is nature’s game
The needled branches are cracking up
As they grab hold of the small flakes
And the clouds gently chuckle
As they watch the merriment going on down below
They blow down
Sending more of nature’s amusement
Casting more snow to the ground
The geese chortle from overhead
As they see the young snow
Trees
Grass
Wind
Clouds
Having such fun
The crinkled leaves on the ground howl in delight
As the bellowing wind spins them across the
Fresh
Clean
Soft layer of snow on the ground
Ivy leaves titter with pure joy
As they catch the light snow in the soft cups
Of the curves in their green hands
The children come out to play
And everyone quiets down
They stop
Giggling
Bellowing
Tittering
Cackling
Chortling
Snickering
Chuckling
Hissing cracking
Howling
And each snowflake is silenced
Finished for the day is
Nature’s fun
