hmm... I'm still confused as to how this helmet helps make sure there are no concussions. Or maybe I have the whole idea wrong. Editor?

Good question writer_girl. The helmets send a message about the intensity of the hit (on a player's head) to the coach by wireless bluetooth. The coach can remove a player from the rink if the impact is big enough for a concussion.. because very often players continue playing not realizing they may have had a concussion. So, it protects them from repeated injury.
