drewproductions — December 29, 2006 — Get a whole egg in a glass bottle using only 3 matches. A really cool trick

What do you think caused the egg to be sucked into the bottle? Get brownie points by answering..

you only need 1 lit match but it makes it so the flame creates a vaccum when out

Maybe because the lit matches need air to burn, the egg was in the way, so they sucked it in!

neat! I read about it somewhere and now I get to see it for real!

fire needs oxygen to stay on fire. so in the act of "breathing" in the oxygen it pooled the egg down with it.

Cool! I think the egg is getting sucked in because the fire on the matches has to have oxygen, so they were trying to find air but the egg was in the way so it sucked through the hole.

Matches need oxygen to keep the fire going, so they suck the air outside the egg in, pushing the egg in.
