Poem : Rain

Rain patters on the window like little feet. Puddles splash and wet leaves spiral and than waft away from their homes. Streaks of yellow, red, and brown sluicing down the street sliding and bumping across the cracked black tar. A tiny sparrow takes shelter from the drizzle under a green leaf. The last trace of summer. A raindrop slides off the tip and bounces onto its tiny feathers and separates into little droplets. They stay there like little pearls. The sparrow chirrups once than springs into flight to find another leaf leaving the pearls falling falling falling to the ground.

Amazing Experience on Lake Titicaca

Ever imagined staying with a local family in a village in a whole new country? Well, I did just that – on the highest navigable lake in the world, in the Andean mountains of Peru. This summer I went to an island called Amantani that lies on Lake Titicaca on the border of Peru and Bolivia. Peru lies in the Southern hemisphere and it was winter there in July. One cold sunny morning we left from the docks at Puno to go to the island of Amantani. It took three hours to get there but I did not get bored at all. There was so much to see on the way.
